Does this verse make you smile? I think it’s an awesome promise! To know that because I’ve placed my faith in Jesus, I now belong to Him, and He’s making me into a new person is great news. Because we all need to know that we don’t have to stay stuck in the lies we believe or in bondage to sins that we wish we could escape.
When God says that a new life has begun, I take comfort in that. I might not be transformed so completely that I never worry again or I suddenly quit trying to tell God how to fix my problems. But I carry that new life within me that Jesus gave to me when I became His.
His. Isn’t that a comforting thought? If we give Him our lives, our trust, our hearts, we belong to Jesus. We will never be abandoned or alone again, even if every human in our life walks away.
His. Wanted. A new creation. Like being born and getting to start life all over again only this time with Him guiding us, loving us, changing us.
Hang onto these thoughts. This verse is one of comfort and challenge. Let’s make sure we belong to Jesus, then let Him change us. We’re going to be amazed at what He can do.
