It’s been a while since I sat down to write a post here. I’ve been spending most of my writing time trying to finish the first draft of my next book. I’ve never had a book take so long to write! But it’s been an eventful summer. Add to that a lot of difficult research and you have the recipe for a lot of staring at the computer and praying to make my daily word count. I finally, after 400 pages (double-spaced) landed in Luke chapter 1 where we see what Scripture has to say about Zechariah and Elizabeth. Oi! It took a lot of history and story to get here.
So I’m finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s actually daylight, not an oncoming train! When I finish, I will read it over, tweak it, and send it to my trusted friends who help me see what needs the most work. Then the rewrites begin. Writing is a long process, at least for me. It takes a good two years from beginning to printed page. Thank you for your patience!
In anticipation of finally typing “the end”, I’ve prepared my fall newsletter with a special pre-Christmas sale for my newsletter readers. This is exclusive to those readers who are U.S. residents. It will not be shared here or on social media as quantities are limited. So if you are interested in some of my books autographed and discounted, sign up for my newsletter today. I’m hoping to send it out by October 1st.
In other news, this month I’ve attended two 50-year reunions – how is that possible? One for my youth group and the other for high school. I wasn’t planning to attend both, but a friend talked me into the second one at the last minute as they happened to have a cancellation, so why not? Life is short. We want to enjoy what we can while we can!
Kody and Kaelee are still as cute and silly as ever. They’re sleeping together in their favorite chair as I write this. They had the trauma of a vet check up this month, but they passed their exams with “healthy” and beautiful cats. Can’t beat that!
The cranes have come to think of our yard as a safe place and they think the “restaurant” should be open at all hours. The “teenager” has no fear of hubby when he refills the feeder. Thankfully, the teenager doesn’t try to nip the hand that feeds it!
I hope this Sunday finds you well. Life is challenging and I know many, many people are living with anxiety over all that is happening in the world. I take comfort in reminding myself that though I cannot change the world, I know the One who can. God is still on His throne. Don’t fear. Trust.
