Cover Reveal and New Contract!

We have a new cover!

My next book,Β A Deeper Well, will release February 17, 2026. This is the story of the Woman at the Well, unlike the stories of her that you may have heard in the past. I take a different look at her life–different than I’d been taught. I hope you enjoy her story!

Here is the back cover copy:

In ancient Israel, soon after Nessa is of marriageable age, her father gives her to a wealthy widowed friend, capitalizing on her beauty to bring in the highest bride-price he can find. Nessa is devastated, as she had begged to marry Lavi, who returned her love and saw more in her beyond her appearance. But Nessa’s betrothal leads to Lavi’s departure, compounding her grief, and she can never forget her forbidden first love.

Nessa tries to accept her fate, but after only a year of marriage, tragedy hits her new family. She is sent back to her father, who quickly finds a wealthy young man who wants to marry the most beautiful woman in Sychar. Misfortune follows Nessa as she is passed from one marriage to another–until she meets an unusual Jewish rabbi at the town’s well one afternoon, and her life is forever changed.

If you are fans of The Chosen, you will notice that I did not give her the same name that they did. In Eastern Orthodox or Eastern Catholic traditions, she is called Saint Photini or Saint Photina. The Chosen kept the name Photina.

The Bible does not give us her name, and in my research, I did not find ample evidence for the name these churches chose for her. So I picked the name I liked. If you prefer Photina, please overlook my change.

Pre-order this book on Amazon or Baker Book House.

We Have a New Contract!

This has been a busy month on so many levels, not the least of which is a new contract with Revell! I’m staying in the New Testament for this one. The stories are of some of the people who were among those who prepared the way for Jesus. Zechariah and Elizabeth were the parents of John the Baptist. I’m going to explore their stories and see where they take me.

The second book covers the stories of Anna and Simeon, the two elderly people who recognized Jesus as the Messiah when he was presented at the temple in Jerusalem. There is almost nothing in Scripture written about any of these people, so the writing will definitely be a challenge, but I do love to imagine!

Until Next Time

I’m taking a break from social media and writing for the upcoming week. We’ve pushed hard to get things done around the house, and I completed the first draft of my next book about the Syrophoenician Woman. I’m in need of some down time. I’ll be back at the end of June.

~God bless

What a very nice & stunningly gorgeous in coloring details of your new book cover πŸ‘πŸ»βœοΈ.
How do you find the names of secondary characters in each of your previous novels ? And how or what made you choose Nessa, a pretty name itself ?

    • Thank you, Grace.
When I write a book, I pick names for my secondary characters based on their ethnicity. I look up Jewish/Hebrew or Samaritan (if there were any) or Persian or Arab or Syrian or African names. I look for names in those categories that I like.

Nessa was one of a few choices I had. I asked my husband which one he liked best and he picked Nessa. I like that name best too, so it was a win-win. πŸ™‚

I am looking forward to all these new projects of yours! I recently finished Rachel. And have started reading Bathsheba I am actually about halfway through. My library honored my request and purchased Dawn of Grace but I had put in the request months ago and ordered for myself anyway. But I am glad that they ordered it because now more people can check it out and discover what a good author you are. I mentioned to you the library said they were on a buying freeze but it made the cut apparently before that happened. Maybe I’ll request them get the Women at the Well when it comes out in Februrary. I told my mom that my favorite book of yours is always the one I am currently reading lol. I love them all.
