I love this time of year — the time when I get to share the cover of next year’s book release! The book is a little-known story about the Syrophoenician woman who begged Jesus to heal her demon-possessed daughter
Read about her in Mark 7:24-30 and Matthew 15:21-28.
When I began this book, I wondered what I was thinking to choose a story that again involved demon possession. I don’t particularly like studying about this subject, but I do believe that what the people of Jesus’ day faced, we still deal with today. But most of us will never see the manifestations of evil talked about in Scripture.
That said, I found this woman’s faith to be so encouraging to my own! She did exactly what Jesus taught us to do — to pray and not give up. Her prayers were in person petitions, but they were persistent. R.C. Sproul said that she wouldn’t take “no” for an answer! Her posture before the Lord was humble. She entreated Him, believing He could give her what she asked of Him. His first response did not discourage her. In the end, He commended her great faith!
I will begin edits on The Table of Mercy in July. I look forward to hearing what my editor suggests. She has worked on every book I’ve written for Revell, and I am most grateful for her!
The book releases February 16, 2027. In the meantime, I’m in the middle of the book releasing in 2028! Publishing works more than a year ahead.
